About Melanie
Melanie graduated from University of New England in 1999. Her 24-year career as an occupational therapist has included working in pediatrics, mental health, acute care, neuro-rehabilitation and currently outpatient hand therapy.
Melanie finds great satisfaction in helping people in their recovery return to work and the activities that they enjoy. She enjoys getting to know her patients, learning how they use their hands and working with them to help restore their function and independence. She has over 6 years of experience in treating patients with upper extremity conditions, from arthritis to complex surgical conditions. She especially enjoys treating peripheral nerve conditions and tendinopathies.
In addition to her experience working with upper extremity conditions she is also a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation specialist and has undergone extensive training in the area of Parkinson’s disease. Melanie’s diverse experience allows her to look holistically at each patient when helping them meet their goals.
Melanie enjoys spending time outside with her family and friends at the lake and in the mountains.
