"I love the field of OT. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of the healing journey, to help facilitate recovery and optimize performance, helping people enhance existing skills and develop new strategies."
About Ann
From the NICU to long-term care, inpatient, outpatient, or at home; Ann has enjoyed working in a variety of rehab settings.
Her first health care position in a community based mental health program prepared her well for graduate school in OT. The experience working with clients with chronic mental illness, combined with temp work as an aide in an outpatient hand and rheumatology clinic, solidified her goal to become an Occupational Therapist.
Early in Ann’s career, she worked in both acute and sub-acute settings gaining valuable experience in general OT in the greater Boston area. This diverse mix included pediatrics with a sensory integration focus; a step-down unit from the acute setting with multi-trauma and ventilator dependent patients; the NICU as well as general subacute rehab. After a decade in the Boston area, she returned to CT to rejoin the small practice where it all started.
Ann loved the outpatient setting, seeing patients one at a time in a private setting, having a specialty yet still addressing the whole person. She moved to Maine in 2005 to build the hand program at NERH in Portland. There she continued her focus in hand therapy and earned her CHT. She also enjoyed participating in the tone clinic addressing the late effects of stroke and TBI. This sparked her interest in Biofeedback.
In 2010 Ann was invited to join Seacoast Hand Therapy and was happy to return to the small outpatient setting. Here is where she has found her home, a setting where she integrates her prior interests and experiences to provide a unique skill set to our patient population. She earned her CLT-UE from Klose training and next achieved Board Certification in Biofeedback.
Hilary and Ann have worked together since 2006 and are thrilled to have purchased Seacoast in 2022. They are excited to enhance the Seacoast mission serving our patients with a unique, comprehensive, and individualized approach.
